QUESTION
TIME
CDot asks:
Was
Brock Lesnar supposed to miss the Shooting Star Press at
WrestleMania?
No,
the plan was for Lesnar to hit the move and pin Angle straight
away but he missed because Angle was too far away. The
commentators tried to cover it up by saying that Angle moved out
of the way but Angle didn't actually move until Lesnar's head hit
him in the side. Lesnar was lucky not to seriously injure his
neck. Lesnar and Angle improvised after the missed move and had
Lesnar win with another F5.
GarciaMlmjr
asks:
Whatever
happened to the Rock's new movie 'Helldorado'? When will it come
out?
The
movie has been renamed 'Welcome to the Jungle' and will be out on
September 26 2003. It also stars Seann William Scott, Rosario
Dawson and Christopher Walken. When the movie was originally
written, Patrick Swayze was set to play The Rock's role.
Peter
John Nash asks:
What
is William Regal's 'illness'?
William
Regal (Darren Matthews) has an intestinal parasite: 'worms'
growing inside his stomach. It is believed that he picked this up
on the WWE's tour of India and it has caused him to gain weight.
Everyone
asks:
What
is 'WrestleMania: The Movie' that Jerry Lawler kept mentioning at
the PPV?
This
will be a behind the scenes film about the build-up to the event
and how the wrestlers' families reacted to it. The movie will be
shown on UPN soon.
Eric
Nordrum asks:
Is
Rowdy Roddy Piper back for good?
At
first it was thought that Piper's appearance at WrestleMania was a
one-off but now it seems that he will be bringing back his
"Piper's Pit" interview segment on Smackdown.
MJt6787
asks:
I
saw an article on another website written by an anonymous WWE
superstar saying he was unhappy about being left off the
WrestleMania card? Is this real and, if so, who is the mystery
wrestler?
Assuming
the
article
is real (it was posted on April 1st), then it could have been
written by one of a number of wrestlers. The wrestler is "someone
that has busted their ass for WWE for many years" who says
that WWE "probably sold more merchandise of me at
WrestleMania on Sunday than Albert has even drawn for the company
in all the years he's been there". We are not suggesting that
any specific person is responsible but the possible names would
have to include Rikishi, Test, Hurricane, Christian, Goldust and Jeff
Hardy. However, Christian doesn't sell
much merchandise and Hurricane has not been employed
by WWE for "many years". It may be more likely to be a Smackdown wrestler because he talks about Nathan Jones being
"the joke of the locker room" but this could just be a
figure of speech and a Raw wrestler could still be
responsible.
WilOWisp23
asks:
Why
do Triple H and Goldberg hate each other so much?
There
has been real-life animosity between Goldberg and Triple H for a
few years. In 2000 Triple H criticised Goldberg on a radio show.
Soon after, Goldberg was at a licensing convention/toy fair in New
York where Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were also present.
Goldberg approached Triple H and started yelling at him but Triple
H just tried to laugh it off.
Hurricane_Lover_69 asks:
Why
was the RVD & Kane Vs Morley and Storm taking off WrestleMania
and put on Heat? I was looking forward to seeing it.
The
official reason was that they didn't have enough time for it,
although they still managed to find time for two Limp Bizkit
performances and the over-long Miller Lite Cat Girls segment. If
William Regal had not been ill then the match would perhaps have
been more likely to make the PPV but, as it was, it was the match
they felt was least important and could be moved to Heat.
Everyone asks:
Is
Stone Cold really fired and is what Eric Bischoff said about him
true?
Austin
has not really been fired and, although it is true that he isn't
feeling very good physically at the moment, Austin is medically
fit to wrestle. The 'firing' will give Austin a chance to rest his
body and allow the possibility of another boss versus employee
feud like the ones Austin has had with Vince McMahon in the past.
It was also a good way to get Austin out of the limelight so that
the attention could be on Goldberg's debut.
Triple
H asks:
What
happened to the rap battle with Cena at WrestleMania?
The
rap battle was cancelled after rapper Fabolous pulled out a few
days before the event. It's likely that WWE would have had Cena
win the battle if it had taken place because they have plans to
push him in title matches against Brock Lesnar. Fabolous probably
pulled out because he didn't want to lose, and WWE would not have
found another professional rapper who would be willing to lose to
a wrestler in a rapping contest.
Ty74
asks:
How
much does WWE make from merchandise and which superstars sell the
most?
In
2002 WWE made $101.5 million overall from merchandise sales. Sales
have been down, both at live events and online but the biggest
sellers are still people like Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan,
Undertaker, Rock and Jeff Hardy. In fact, one of the reasons why
Jeff Hardy has held on to his job for so long is that he sells a
LOT of merchandise.
PJdaa
asks:
If
WrestleMania was live then how did they bleep out the swearing in
Limp Bizkit's performance?
WrestleMania
was live but, like many 'live' TV shows, it was broadcast with a
few seconds delay to allow bad language, etc to be censored. WWE
started doing this with Raw several years ago when Bret Hart swore
live on air.
Hitman84
and The Foxx
asks:
Is
it just us, or is Roddy Piper not really Scottish?
Roddy
Piper (Roderick Toombs) was not born in Scotland but his family
originally comes from there. Roddy was born in Canada but lived in
Glasgow at one stage during his childhood and he can really play
the bagpipes.
Y3K
asks:
Is
it true that WWE have been unhappy with Michael Cole's commentary
work?
There
were reports a few months ago that Vince McMahon was unhappy with
some of Cole's commentary work on Smackdown but he has definitely
improved since this
clip from
2000 where he used the phrase 'dog poop' 6 times in 12 seconds on
Raw.
Donna
asks:
I
heard the Bret Hart might come back. Is that true?
In
a recent commentary on his website Bret Hart was very positive
about WWE and WrestleMania 19, saying that he liked the fact they
seemed to have more pure wrestling on their shows now. He
made it clear that his wrestling career is over after his serious
concussion and stroke but he could return in some sort of
non-wrestling role such as a 'commissioner' or manager.
Evan
S asks:
I
was watching Smackdown on April 10th, and I was wondering why does Charlie
Haas have the name "Russ" written on his wrist tape?
Russ
Haas was Charlie's younger brother and tag-team partner in Ohio
Valley Wrestling. He died of heart problems in December 2001.
Charlie changed his wrestling name to R.C. Haas for a short time,
in tribute to his brother.
Lee
asks:
Why
didn't Kevin Nash come back as Diesel?
There
were rumours that Nash would return from injury using his Diesel
character but, as we said in answer to a previous question a few
months ago, he might not actually use the Diesel name because he
is more famous by his real name now. He now has dark hair and
Diesel entrance music but the commentators referred to him as
Kevin Nash when he returned on Raw. He could start to call himself
'Diesel' Kevin Nash or 'Big Daddy Cool' Kevin Nash in future
weeks.
Mystery
cool_gender
asks:
Who
was Sapphire in the WWF?
Sapphire
was the manager/valet of Dusty Rhodes in the WWF in 1989/1990. Her
real name was Juanita Wright and she died of a heart attack in
1996. She was a strange choice as a valet for Dusty Rhodes and she
was in her mid 50s at the time. Some people say that she was
chosen in order to humiliate Rhodes, who had previously been
booker for the NWA, the WWF's rivals. They also made him wear an
polka-dot outfit to wrestle, and the Million Dollar Man's black
'slave' Virgil was named after Rhodes, whose real name is Virgil
Runnels.
TJK
asks:
Is
it true that WWE can now use the old WWF logo again?
Last
year the World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund won a case
in the High Court in London to prevent the wrestling company from
using the WWF initials and before Christmas the Fund stopped THQ
selling any video games with the old WWF 'scratch' logo in them.
This decision was overturned on April 17 and THQ can now sell the
old games again. This may also pave the way for WWE to be allowed
to start selling their old videos with the WWF logo again.
Everyone
asks:
Who
is Mr America?
There
are rumours that this could be Hulk Hogan coming back 'in
disguise' but nothing has been confirmed yet. It could be a
completely new wrestler but that seems unlikely because the
gimmick seems too similar to Hogan's old 'Real American' gimmick
and Kurt Angle's current character.
Stephen
asks:
What
does the writing say on the back of Roddy Piper's T-shirt,
"In memory of..."?
The
writing on the back of the 'Frats' t-shirt says 'Frats Hall of
Fame' and is a tribute to the following wrestlers who have passed
away: Art Barr, Rick Rude, Brian Pillman, Davey Boy Smith, Adrian
Adonis, Andre the Giant, Owen Hart, Kerry Von Erich, Bruiser Brody
and Junk Yard Dog. The t-shirt can be bought from www.rowdyroddypiper.com.
AmberDerby
asks:
Can
you give me some basic info on Sable. How old is she and where is
she from?
Sable
(Rena Mero) was born in Jacksonville Florida as Rena Greek and
will be 36 years old in August. She is currently married to former
wrestler Marc Mero (real name Marc Merowitz) but has been married
before, to a man called Wayne Richardson who died in 1991. She has
a 15 year old daughter called Mariah from her first marriage who
Marc has now legally adopted.
Everyone
asks:
What
happened with Jeff Hardy? Has he
really gone from WWE?
Yes,
Jeff Hardy is no longer with WWE. At the moment it is unclear
whether he was fired or his release was a mutual decision. There
have been rumours that Jeff had asked officials about leaving several
times over the past few months, so that he can concentrate on his
music, but he was persuaded to stay. However, WWE management has
been unhappy with his attitude and lack of commitment for some
time, which may have led to his release.
Everyone
asks:
Has
JR really quit?
No
Jim Ross hasn't really quit, it's just a storyline. He is due to
return to Raw shortly, possibly at the same time as Steve Austin.
Everyone
asks:
How
did Miss Elizabeth die?
Elizabeth
Hulette, the former wife and WWF valet of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage
died at Kennestone Hospital in Atlanta on May 1. She was taken ill
at the house she shared with wrestler Lex Luger (Larry Pfohl) and
was rushed to hospital by ambulance but nothing could be done to
save her. Luger was arrested but this was on drugs charges and he
is not responsible for Elizabeth's death. There has been some
speculation about this because Luger was arrested on Easter Sunday
for punching Elizabeth in the face, resulting in a black eye. It
has been reported that Elizabeth was 42 at the time of her death
but some sources say she was 46.
Alfredo
asks:
Is
one of the guys who is part of the French
tag team the referee who screwed Hogan against The Rock?
Yes,
that is Sylvan Grenier. His partner in 'La Resistance' is 19 year
old René Duprée. The two men are actually French-Canadian but
they are being presented as French to play on current anti-France
attitudes in the United States and to make fans boo them.
TPH
asks:
Is
it true that the Road Warriors are returning to WWE?
WWE
management are reportedly interested in signing Hawk & Animal,
the Road Warriors / Legion of Doom. They will appear in dark (untelevised)
matches at the Raw and Smackdown tapings so that WWE can assess
their performance and the reaction of the fans and then decide
whether to offer the team contracts. WWE road agent John
Laurinaitis is the real-life brother of Animal (Joseph Laurinaitis),
and he is also the man rumoured to be taking over from Jim Ross'
duties in Talent Relations so this could have some bearing on the
decision.
Mr
E asks:
What
does DDT stand for?
The
name DDT originally comes from an insecticide and stands for 'Dichloro-Diphenyl-Trichloroethane'
but in wrestling it doesn't stand for anything. When Jake 'the
Snake' Roberts used the move he said it stood for 'Damien's Dinner
Time' after his snake Damien but this was something he made up
after he had already started using the move.
Tom
B asks:
Is
that really Jeff Hardy selling artwork on Ebay?
Yes,
Jeff really is auctioning his artwork here,
although his girlfriend Beth seems to be running the auction.
Bidding is currently over $700, which is a lot for a picture drawn
with markers.
Dom
asks:
What
exactly does a WWE Road Agent do?
WWE
road agents include Arn Anderson, Fit Finlay, Dean Malenko, Sgt.
Slaughter, Pat Patterson, Terry Taylor and Dave Hebner. They are responsible
for making sure things go smoothly backstage and that the
wrestlers behave themselves and are were they should be at the
right times. They are also the people who the wrestlers get
together with to plan their matches, particularly how the match
will end. Most of the agents are former wrestlers and have a lot
of experience in the business.
Minun
asks:
Is
it true that Sting is coming back?
There
have been reports that Sting (Steve Borden) is in discussions with
WWE and could debut at Summerslam in August. Goldberg and several
of his other former WCW colleagues have apparently been
encouraging Sting to sign, but Sting is keen to work only a
limited number of dates per year, like Goldberg.
Stephen
Hacker asks:
Where
is Paul Heyman?
Heyman
asked to be taken off TV so that he could hire a personal trainer
and lose some weight before he returns in a managerial role. He is
no longer head writer for Smackdown but works behind the scenes as
a storyline 'consultant'.
Tamrez
asks:
I
recently visited the WWA website, and there I found a list of
wrestlers one which was Nathan Jones, has he been released by the WWE?
Nathan
Jones hasn't been released by the WWE. The reason he is on the WWA
website is that he wrestled for the company from
2001-2002 and they simply haven't updated their site. In fact
Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett are still listed on the site and
they are no longer with the company either.
Ric
asks:
Was
it just me or did the Legion Of Doom seem really out of shape and
made a lot of mistakes during their match on Raw the other week?
No
it was not just you, the WWE wasn't impressed by the standard of
the L.O.D's performances last week. According to reports, any
interest the WWE had in bringing them back on a full time basis
has now gone - they are not expected to be signed.
Pete
asks:
How
did Steve Austin really get the black eye?
Steve
Austin suffered the black eye and various other injuries in a car
crash last weekend. It is believed that Austin's car was the only
one involved in the incident.
Hurricaneash
asks:
When
Kurt Angle returns will he be heel or face?
There
have been conflicting reports as to whether Kurt Angle will be
returning as a face or heel. Many people are stating that Kurt
himself wants to return as a face so that he can help cement his
legacy as the best ever. However the final decision rests with
Vince McMahon and the creative team.
B-Money
asks:
When
in Batista coming back?
Batista
re-injured his triceps muscle in May when he fell over while
running with his wife. He has had surgery and is expected to be
out until October.
Ty64
asks:
Is
Yokozuna dead?
Yes,
Yokozuna (Rodney Anoai) is dead. The Former WWE champion was
found dead, aged 34, in his room by his trainer on Monday October
23 2000 in Liverpool, England. He was participating in a wrestling
tour of the UK at the time of his passing.
jenmic
asks:
In
WWE magazine I saw on the calendar that the Raw brand was doing
shows in Austria and Italy on June 4th and 5th, but I looked on
WWE.com that those event were not included. What happened?
WWE
did plan to visit Austria and Italy but the dates were cancelled
and will not be rescheduled. Poor ticket sales are the most likely
reason, although it was reported that over 3000 tickets had been
sold for the event in Italy and had to be refunded. The remaining
dates on the tour are going ahead: June 6th in Nottingham, England
and June 7th in Newcastle, England (Insurrextion
PPV)
boommer_182
asks:
Is
The Rock turning back into a face?
The
Rock's appearance on Raw this week was a one-off and he won't be
back full time until September at the earliest. He turned face
(fan favourite) again partly so that his new movie will be more
successful, and also so that he can set up a possible feud with
Chris Jericho for when he returns.
Dawn
Maycrest asks:
I
was watching the movie Corky Romano and I swear the girl in it was
Sable. Was it Sable or just someone who looked a lot like her?
Sable
(Rena Mero) did have a small role in the film Corky Romano which
was made in 2001. She played a female bouncer in the film which is
about a plan to infiltrate the FBI and retrieve and destroy
evidence being used to incriminate for racketeering charges.
Spurs4591
asks:
Can
you give me some info on Ultimo Dragon?
Ultimo
Dragon's real name is Yoshihiro Asai. He is 5'7", weighs 175
pounds and was born in Japan. He retired from wrestling in 1998
after a doctor performing surgery on an arm injury accidentally
cut a nerve causing him to lose all mobility in it.
Dragon took legal action against WCW for whom he was working for
at the time as they had recommended he use that doctor. In late
2002 however Dragon made a surprise return to action and was
eventually singed by the WWE in early 2003. He is expected to
debut shortly on Smackdown.
Surfinchick
asks:
How
old is Brian Kendrick?
Brian
Kendrick was on born May 29 1979 in Olympia, Washington, making
him 24
years old.
MF'er
asks:
Does
Matt care that his brother Jeff got fired? I heard they where
supposed to get back together?
Matt Hardy
probably realises that WWE was left with no option
other than to release Jeff. He had lost his desire to be part of
wrestling and no longer wanted to be there. In his commentary on
WWE.com Matt stated that in the future he hopes that Jeff will be
back in the WWE in some shape or form.
EeDaz
asks:
When
was Steve Austin in ECW?
Steve
Austin was in ECW in mid 1996 before he joined the WWE. He
wrestled under the name 'Superstar' Steve Austin but didn't really
do much of note while he was there.
Zac
asks:
How
come the referees wear wires?
The
wires referees wear are connected to an ear piece, so they can
receive messages from backstage. They are told how much time is
left for the match and whether the show is running late, etc.
Dazzer
asks:
How
can Triple H hit people with a sledgehammer without hurting them.
Are the hammers lightweight?
The
hammers Triple H uses are real but if you look closely you can see
that he hardly touches people with them at all when he supposedly
hits them. Most of the time he has his hand over the end of the
hammer.
Dmob
asks:
Has
Zack Gowen really got a WWE contract?
Zack
Gowen does have a WWE contract and has done for the past 3 months,
the situation on WWE TV where he is trying to gain a contract from
Vince McMahon is just a storyline. It is very rare for the WWE to
actually put a wrestler on TV unless they have some sort of
contract.
RAPBOY87
asks:
Has
Hulk Hogan really quit?
Yes,
Hulk Hogan has left WWE. He was reportedly unhappy with the way
the 'Mr America' storyline was developing and disappointed with
the payment he received for his WrestleMania appearance. At the
Smackdown taping in Madison Square Garden last week Mr America
unmasked, revealing himself to be Hulk Hogan. This was not
originally supposed to be shown on TV but will now be used in the
storyline to explain Mr America's disappearance. In the story,
Vince McMahon will use it as proof that Mr America is Hogan and
ban Mr America from WWE as well. It is possible that Hogan will
appear in WWE again in the future, perhaps around WrestleMania 20.
Everyone
asks:
Is
Kane still played by Glenn Jacobs?
Yes,
Kane is still Glenn Jacobs, even though he looks different than he
did when he was Isaac Yankem and the fake Diesel. This can be seen
from the photos on our Kane
Then & Now page
IloatheGailKim
asks:
What
happened to Jamal, Rosey's tag partner? Did he quit?
Jamal
(Matthew Anoia) was released from his WWE contract in mid-June. He
had been in some legal trouble after he allegedly assaulted a
police officer at a bar and this might have prompted WWE's
decision to release him.
Nik
asks:
I
was wondering if wrestlers wear special boots or shoes to make
them look taller?
Yes,
some wrestlers do wear boots with special 'lifts' inside which
make them a few inches taller. Chris Jericho is one wrestler who
does, making him appear 6 feet tall when he is actually only
5'10" at the most.
Tom432
asks:
Is
it true that Mick Foley's house burnt down?
Yes,
one of Foley's houses was completely destroyed by fire on July 7
but it was the house in Florida where the Foleys have not lived
for 3 years. The family's main home is on Long Island, New York.
MW
asks:
Will
Stone Cold ever wrestle again?
At
the moment it seems that Steve Austin wrestled his last match at
WrestleMania against The Rock. The condition of his neck has deteriorated
to a point where it would be very dangerous for him to compete
again and he would risk paralysis. Austin is likely to have a
non-wrestling role for the foreseeable future, however there is a
chance he could still return to the ring at some point, although
not on a full-time basis.
Walkingmiracle
asks:
Are
Goldust (Dustin Runnels) and Terri still married? How many kids do
they have?
No,
Dustin and Terri have been divorced for several years now.
Since their separation Terri has actually married and divorced
again. Dustin and Terri have one child together, their daughter
Dakota.
Yes
asks:
Has
Sting ever been in the WWE before?
No,
Sting (Steve Borden) is one of the few main-event wrestlers who
has never been employed by WWE during his career. However, that
may change in the near future as rumours continue that he will
debut at, or shortly after, Summerslam.
DudeLove
asks:
Is
there any more news on how Miss Elizabeth died?
The
autopsy report released last week stated that Miss Elizabeth (Elizabeth
Hulette) died from mixing alcohol with a number of drugs,
including painkillers and tranquilizers. Her death has officially
been ruled accidental and there is no suggestion that she
committed suicide or foul play was involved.
greatone88
asks:
Is
Triple H really injured?
Yes,
Triple H suffered a severe groin injury during the match he had
with Goldberg after Raw went off the air last week. He has been
removed from the current tour of Australia and at the moment it's unclear
whether he will be fit to compete at Summerslam.
Sid
Justice asks:
Is
it true that the WWE superstars had a hit single in the UK charts?
Yes,
several WWE superstars, including The Undertaker, Bret Hart and
Big Bossman, featured on the single 'Slam Jam', which reached
number 4 in the UK in December 1992 and stayed on the chart for 8
weeks. Two other singles were released the next year,
'WrestleMania' (later used as Linda McMahon's entrance theme) and
'USA' (which only featured 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan), along with an
album, 'WrestleMania - The Album'.
SallyAnne
asks:
Can
you please tell me who sings Evolution's theme music?
The
singer on Evolution's entrance music is Lemmy from MotorHead.
Originally the music did not have any vocals but Triple H, who is
a big fan of the group, asked Lemmy to come up with some. Lemmy
also sang the vocals on Triple H's old theme music.
t.vaustin
asks:
Can
you list all the members who have ever been in the nWo?
Members
of the nWo in either WCW or WWE have included: Kevin Nash, Scott
Hall, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Ric Flair, Big
Show/The Giant, Syxx (X-Pac), Scott Steiner, Lex Luger, Eric
Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, Brian
Adams, Horace Hogan, Sting, Fake Sting, Bret Hart , Curt Hennig
(Mr Perfect), Scott Norton, Stevie Ray, Rick Rude, Dusty Rhodes,
Vincent (Virgil), Dennis Rodman, Randy Savage, Konnan, The
Disciple (Brutus Beefcake), Louie Spicolli, Ted Dibiase, Big Bubba
(Big Bossman), Michael Wallstreet (IRS), Jeff Jarrett, Ron &
Don Harris, Nick Patrick, Kyle Petty (racecar driver), Masa
Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Hiro Saito and The Great Muta.
Loki
Joey asks:
Who
sings Zach Gowen's music?
The
music is called "Out of My Way" and is by Seether. Apparently
Zach's mother chose it as his entrance theme.
Chris
Strauss asks:
Can
you tell me what WWE's current policy on illegal steroid and
supplement usage is?
WWE
does not test its wrestlers for illegal drugs and has no specific
policy against their use. They did have a steroid testing policy
in the early 1990s but abandoned this in 1992 after they won the
federal steroid trial.
Many
US states have boxing or athletic commissions which test all athletes
for performance enhancing drugs but WWE wrestlers do not have to
undergo these tests as pro-wrestling is now classed as an
exhibition or entertainment rather than as a sport. Recently,
however, the New York State Athletic Commission has said that it
wants to steroid test WWE wrestlers when they wrestle in the
state.
Beverlee Major asks:
Did
Zack Gowen really break his leg?
No,
Zach's leg is not really broken. It was just a storyline to make
Brock Lesnar more unpopular with the fans.
Iso976
asks:
Why
did Goldberg bleed so much after a few punches from Ric Flair at
Summerslam? Did he cut himself with a blade?
It
was actually Flair who cut Goldberg's head with a blade to make
him bleed. If you watch closely you can see Flair get a blade from
his trousers, cut Goldberg with it and then punch him to open on
the cut. Wrestlers usually 'blade' themselves but Flair is a
veteran who has a lot of experience using blades safely.
Tom
asks:
Why
did Kevin Nash bleach his hair before the hair-versus-hair match
with Chris Jericho? Didn't that make it obvious that he was going
to lose?
Yes,
it did make it obvious that Nash would lose but he most likely did
it so that his hair would not look grey and patchy when it was cut
short live on TV. The hair-versus-hair match was set up because
Nash wanted to have his hair cut short for a movie part. Whenever
there is a hair match it is usually because one of the wrestlers
involved wants to have a hair cut anyway (e.g. Jeff Jarrett, Kurt
Angle, etc).
TheRock313276049 asks:
When
will "The Rundown" be shown in UK cinemas?
The
Rock's latest movie (formerly known as "Helldorado" and
"Welcome to the Jungle") will be released in the US and
Canada on September 26 2003. The UK release date has not yet been
confirmed but is expected to be in January 2004.
Rick
asks:
I
know Kane (Glen Jacobs) was the fake Diesel but who was the fake
Razor Ramon?
Rick
Bogner played the part of the fake Razor Ramon in WWE in late
1996. When he left he returned to wrestle in Japan, where he had
much more success than he did in WWE.
DD
asks:
How
tall was Andre The Giant?
Although
he was billed as being 7'4", Andre The Giant ( Andre
Rousimoff ) was actually only 6'11". During backstage
interviews he used to stand on a box to make himself appear bigger
than he really was. The Big Show is the tallest wrestler in WWE at
the moment, at 7'0".
Dell45
asks:
What
is the biggest WWE attendance ever? Is that the biggest crowd ever
for a wrestling event?
The
biggest WWE attendance of all time is 93,173 at WrestleMania 3,
which was held in the Pontiac Silverdome on March 29 1987. The
main event was Hulk Hogan Vs Andre the Giant. However, the biggest
recorded crowd of all time for a wrestling event is 170,000. This
occurred on April 29 1995 at a New Japan Pro Wrestling show in
North Korea, which featured a main event between Antonio Inoki and
Ric Flair.
Bret
asks:
I
heard that The Hurricane and Rodney Mack got into a fight
backstage is that true?
Yes,
apparently Rodney Mack and The Hurricane (Shane Helms) were
involved in a real-life confrontation backstage at a house show
event last week, which lead to The Hurricane receiving hospital
treatment.
Subsidal
asks:
Have
JR and The King really gone for good?
No,
they haven't and there will almost certainly be a storyline
bringing them back to TV very soon, probably involving Steve
Austin reinstating. JR and the King are both past their primes and
out of touch with teenage fans but WWE currently has nobody to
replace them in the long term.
IamBlessed524
asks:
You
said that Kevin Nash had his hair cut for a movie role. What's the
movie?
The
movie is called 'The Punisher' and stars John Travolta and Rebecca
Romijn-Stamos. It is currently being produced and will be released
in April 2004. Nash's exact role has not been confirmed but he is
rumoured to be playing some sort of 'henchman'. Nash's only other
major film role was as 'Super Shredder' in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze' in 1991.
Victoria
L asks:
Who
performs Gail Kim's entrance music?
Although
it sounds quite like Victoria's entrance music (by Tatu), Gail's
theme was produced by WWE themselves and is not by an actual band.
We're not sure of the title but the lyrics are:
How
they were lies to me, now I can see
Given these gifts, I will lead you to me
Leaning your heads on the least agony
I might have to chase you, I shall never free
I opened up my eyes
When they'd open up the door
Set me free, and I might go back for more
(I've got) Something in my heart(in my heart)
Something in my soul(in my soul)
(I've got) Something in this body I must show
I've been waiting all my life
Working dusk till dawn
Follow me and I'll never let you go

TomB
asks:
Is
it true that there are hidden extras on the Shawn Michaels DVD?
Yes,
there are 3 hidden extras on the From
The Vault: Shawn Michaels
DVD:
For
Shawn's comments on his entrance music, load Disc 1, select
'Extras' from the main menu, go to the 'Barbershop' option and
press left.
For
the interview where Shawn says he's 'lost his smile', load Disc 2,
select 'Extras', go down to the 'Photo Gallery' option and press
left twice.
For
the 'Buddy Rose Blow Away Diet' advert (which has nothing to do
with Shawn Michaels!), load Disc 1, select 'Extras', go down to
the 'Be Ready' option and press left twice.
WWE
seems to be including hidden features like this in a lot of its
DVDs now. The Rey Mysterio DVD has 8 hidden extras. On the
'Extras' screen you can press left on each of the first 7 matches
to view the 'Rey Mysterio is coming' promos. You can also listen
to Rey talking about his theme music by going to the 'Jump To It'
screen and pressing left on 'Who's That'.
We
now have a list of WWE DVD Easter eggs here.
